North Yorkshire Police has appealed for help locating 32-year-old Dwaine Layton, who is wanted in connection with a serious assault.
The force said today Layton is believed to be in the Harrogate area.
It added:

Man wanted in police car tampering investigation in Pateley Bridge
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following “vehicle interference” in Pateley Bridge.
In a statement issued today, North Yorkshire Police said the incident “involved someone removing items from a car who then went on to try and gain access to another car, which proved to be unsuccessful”.
It happened on Old Brewery Road on an unspecified date “earlier this year”.
The statement said:
“Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the person in the image as they believe they will have information that could help the investigation.

Sheep’s throat injured in dog attack near Harrogate
A sheep’s throat was badly injured when it was attacked by a dog near Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police last night issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident, which is the latest occurrence of sheep worrying in the district.
It happened at Stainburn between midday on Saturday May 13 and 9am on Sunday May 14.
Police said in a statement:
“A sheep was chased which resulted in a nasty injury to its throat.
“Officers from our rural task force are now requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, officers are appealing for information from anyone that might have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident.”

Missing Harrogate woman found safe after four daysA Harrogate woman has been found safe after going missing for four days.
North Yorkshire Police issued an appeal for the 56-year-old female on Friday last week. It said she had not been seen since the previous day and officers were “extremely concerned for her welfare”.
This morning the police said the woman had been found safe yesterday.

Police seek man after electric bike stolen from Harrogate Aldi
Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after an electric bike was stolen outside a Harrogate supermarket.
The incident happened at Aldi on Old Beck Road at about 3.10pm on Saturday, April 15.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement today:
“The bike had been left secure outside the store. A man entered B&Q next door, then rode the bike away.
“Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise a man pictured on CCTV, as they believe he will have information that will help the investigation.”

Police seek wanted man from Harrogate
North Yorkshire Police have arrested a man following a wanted person appeal in Harrogate.
The force issued a statement saying Darren Atkinson, 37, was wanted in relation to a harassment offence. It added:
“Officers believe he may in the Harrogate area.
“Despite several enquiries they have not yet been able to located him.”

Dashcam footage appeal after serious crash on Leathley Lane
Police are appealing for dashcam footage of a serious collision on the edge of the Harrogate district.
A woman in a green 12-reg Mazda broke several bones and was hospitalised for five days.
The crash happened at 9.20am on Tuesday, March 14 at Leathley Lane near Castley Lane.
According to North Yorkshire Police, three other vehicles were involved: a white 21-reg Ford Transit van, a grey 21-reg Hyundai Ioniq and a grey 10-reg Skoda Roomster.
The stretch of road was closed for several hours while officers investigated and vehicles were recovered.
A police statement said:
“We’re appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing the vehicles involved prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.
“In particular, we’re appealing for motorists in the area at the time who may have relevant dashcam footage of the collision itself or of any of the vehicles involved prior to the incident.”

Police seek brick-throwing Ripon boys
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information about a group of boys throwing bricks at a window in Ripon.
In a media release issued today, police said the “criminal damage incident” took place on Aismunderby Road at about 4.45pm yesterday.
The release said:
“Several teenagers threw a brick at a property window. The teenagers were described as approximately 12 to 14 years old.”

Police issue CCTV appeal to find man after Knaresborough assault
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for help to to identify a man captured on CCTV as part of an investigation into shoplifting and assault.
The force issued a statement this afternoon, which said:
“Officers would like to speak to him about a number of shop thefts in the Knaresborough area, including one at the One Stop shop on March 7 when a member of shop staff was also assaulted.
“They believe he may have information that could assist the investigation.”

Bogus police seize boy’s electric scooter in Bilton
Two bogus police officers mounted a pavement in an unmarked car before seizing a boy’s electric scooter in Bilton yesterday.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement this evening it was investigating the “disturbing incident”, which happened at 7.20pm last night as the teenager was pushing the scooter.
The statement added”
“It has caused a great deal of distress and anger both to him and his family.
“Despite extensive enquiries including a trawl of CCTV in the area, the suspects have yet to be tracked down.
“Checks are being carried out with neighbouring police forces in case the offenders have travelled into North Yorkshire.”
Both suspects are described as white, medium build, with tattooed arms, and wearing black police-style clothing including combat trousers.
The are believed to have been driving either a black Ford Mondeo or Ford Focus.
