Police appeal after car crashes into Kirk Deighton bus shelter

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a car crashed into a stone bus shelter in Kirk Deighton.

The 75-year-old driver and the 51-year-old male passenger suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital.

The woman was driving a red Suzuki Swift south on the B6164 from Knaresborough to Wetherby when the collision happened at about 4.45pm on Friday.

The unnamed pair are both from Wetherby.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the car before the collision to get in touch.

Anyone with dashcam footage nearby is also being asked to call 101 and ask for TC161 Steve Wood.

Missing Lucy: appeal for information about Harrogate teen continues

Police in two counties are still appealing for information on the whereabouts of missing Harrogate teenager Lucy Morris.

North Yorkshire Police issued an appeal on Sunday night, saying Lucy, 17, had not been seen by her family since May 15 and there had been no text messages or social media contact from her since May 22.

The plea led to comments on the force’s Facebook account from people claiming to be friends of Lucy, and even Lucy herself, saying they knew of her whereabouts and that she was fine.

But North Yorkshire Police said this morning:

“The appeal from the weekend is still relevant. There’s nothing further to add at this time.

“As soon as we have an update or a further appeal, it will be released straight away.”

Lucy is described as white, 5ft 3in tall, blue eyes, slim build and she has shoulder-length blonde hair. She has a tattoo on her left hand, which says ‘blessed’.

North Yorkshire Police urged Lucy to “get in touch with the police immediately and let your family know you are safe” and said anyone with information could call 101, select option 1, and speak to the force control room, quoting reference number 12210122535.

Lucy is believed to have gone to Leeds to stay with a friend and North Yorkshire Police said West Yorkshire Police was helping with the missing person investigation.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said:

“We will support North Yorkshire as much as we can to help locate Lucy.”

Found: Police appeal for help to find missing Starbeck man

Update: This missing man from Starbeck has been found safe and well. The police have thanked residents and said their calls were “crucial”.

North Yorkshire Police has appealed for help locating a missing man from Starbeck.

Andrew Macleod, 54, is described as white, 6ft tall, slim build, having short grey hair and tattoos on top of his arms.

He was last seen wearing pale blue jeans, a blue puffa jacket and possibly brown suede leather boots.

Police issued the appeal this afternoon. No photo of Mr Macleod has been released and it is not known how long he has been missing.

Police appeal for help finding wanted Ripon man

North Yorkshire Police has appealed for help finding a Ripon man who is wanted in connection with offences including robbery, kidnap and burglary.

John Paul Wilson, 21, is wanted in connection with a strong of offences in the Ripon area

The police today issued an appeal asking anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to contact them.

They believe that he could be in the Ripon or Harrogate area although he also has connections with Darlington.

Appeal for witnesses to street fight in Bilton

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a group of men began fighting on Knox Chase, Bilton, on Friday April 16.

The incident involved five men, of various ages, physically fighting on the street at around 7.40pm.

The police reported that several residents came out of their homes to try to calm the situation.

Some of the men involved suffered facial injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call 101 and quote reference number 12210099520.

Police appeal after CCTV camera damaged in Ripon

North Yorkshire Police appealed today for witnesses after a CCTV camera on Bondgate in Ripon was damaged.

Police said the incident occurred at about 9pm on Sunday, February 21.

They issued a rather grainy CCTV image of a person wearing a mask who they hope to speak to about the incident.

Police appeal for help after row on Skipton Road

Police are appealing for witnesses to a heated argument on Skipton Road in Harrogate.

It happened near the junction of Woodfield Road between 2am and 3am on Saturday.

The altercation was between a man and a woman in the same car.

North Yorkshire Police is seeking help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police appeal after man punched and spat at in Ripon

Police are appealing for help to trace a man following an assault in Ripon.

A man was punched and spat at by another man on Bondgate in the city, on Friday, November 27 last year, around 2.30am.

North Yorkshire Police has now issued an appeal for witnesses and information to help with its investigation, saying:

“We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and in particular we are appealing for anyone who can identify the man pictured as we believe he may have information which could help the investigation.”

Mountain bike stolen from Harrogate garage

Police are appealing for information after a mountain bike was stolen from a locked garage in Harrogate.

It happened just before 1am on Wednesday, January 27, when the lock was broken on a garage on Tewit Well Road.

The green and black mountain bike was stolen. A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:

“In particular, we are appealing for information about anyone who might have seen a green and black mountain bike in the area around this time.”
