A pedestrian is seriously ill in hospital after a crash on the A59 outside Shaws Trailer Park at Starbeck.
Emergency services were called to the A59 Knaresborough Road at 7.45am yesterday (Monday, December 18).
North Yorkshire Police said last night:
“A SsangYong Korando in grey which was travelling in the direction of Harrogate collided with a man in his 50s as he was crossing the road at the pelican crossing.
“The pedestrian is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
“The driver of the SsangYong is assisting officers with their investigation.”
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Missing Harrogate girls found
North Yorkshire Police has said two missing teenage girls from Harrogate have been found safe.
A police statement today said the girls, who had last been seen on Tuesday, December 5, had been located.

Police seek man after public order offence at Ripon Cathedral
Police today issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to following a public order offence at Ripon Cathedral.
The incident took place on Friday, October 20, at about 11.15am. No further details have been released.
North Yorkshire Police described the suspect as white, around 6ft tall and in his early 40s. He is believed to be from the Ripon area.
It said in a statement:
“Officers have released two CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the investigation, as he may have important information about it.”

Two men arrested after Boroughbridge burglary
Two men have been arrested following a burglary in Boroughbridge.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement today a man in his 20s and a man is in his 30s had been arrested and “released on bail pending further enquiries”.
Officers appealed for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
The statement said:
“It happened on Willow Grove at approximately 8.30pm on October 20 when a property was broken into and a number of power tools were stolen.
“Officers are appealing for information about any people and/or vehicles seen in the location near to the time of the incident along with any private CCTV or doorbell footage of suspicious activity.”

Police seek woman after dog attacks man in Harrogate town centre
Police have appealed for help identifying a woman after a “dangerously out of control” dog attacked a man in Harrogate town centre.
The man had to go to hospital after the dog attacked him.
North Yorkshire Police this morning issued a photo of the dog and a woman it wants to speak to.
The force said in a statement:
“We want to speak to this woman after a man needed to go to hospital due to injuries caused by a dangerously out of control dog.
“The dog also tried to attack the victim’s dog.
“The victim was knocked over when the dog rushed him. He suffered an injury to his hip and hand which resulted in a hospital visit.”
The incident happened outside Holland & Barrett on Cambridge Street in Harrogate at 4.40pm on Monday, September 23.
The statement added:
“We’d like to hear from you if you recognise the woman in this image, as we believe she may have information that could help the investigation.

A total of 29 sheep have been stolen from a field near Pateley Bridge.
The sheep were taken from land next to Duck Street Lane at Greenhow between Tuesday October 10 and October 22, North Yorkshire Police said today.
Officers appealed for witnesses and information, particularly any suspicious movements of wagons or farm vehicles with trailers in the area.

Police CCTV appeal after man glassed at Montey’s in Harrogate
Police have appealed for help finding a man they want to speak to following a serious assault in Harrogate town centre.
A man was taken to hospital with facial injuries after being assaulted with a glass at Montey’s on The Ginnel.
The incident happened at 1am on Sunday, September 3.
North Yorkshire Police first issued a CCTV image of a man they wanted to contact on September 18.
Officers today renewed the appeal. The force said in a statement:

Police locate wanted Ripon man
North Yorkshire Police has found a wanted Ripon man who went missing.
The 23-year-old was released on licence on May 19 this year but the Probation Service has since reported “poor behaviour”.
North Yorkshire Police released a wanted appeal on Friday, but have since located the suspect.

Missing Harrogate girl found
Police are searching for a missing Harrogate teenager have confirmed she has been found.
The 13-year-old was reported missing yesterday.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement this morning that she has been found safe and well.

Woman sexually assaulted and punched in Harrogate bar
A woman was sexually assaulted, punched and had her hair ripped out in a Harrogate bar on Saturday night.
A man was also headbutted and punched repeatedly in the incident, which happened in Mojo on Parliament Street at about 3am.
Police issued CCTV images of two men they wanted to speak to following what officers described as “a serious assault and sexual assault”.
Officers have since confirmed that the men were identified.
