North Yorkshire Police has issued an appeal for information about a Ripon man who has been missing since Sunday.
Gavin Dhont, 45, was last seen in the Ripon area on Sunday night. He is described as having a thin build and short dark brown hair.
Police said in a statement today they “are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety”. They added:
“If you’ve seen him or have any information about where he is, please call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 to speak to the force control room and quote reference 12220219012.

Police find missing man with Harrogate links
North Yorkshire Police has confirmed that a missing man has been found following an appeal.
Officers said they were “extremely concerned” for the welfare of the 36-year-old.
A police statement said the man was found safe and well.

Land Rover stolen from Wormald Green
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for help finding a Land Rover Discovery, which was stolen from Wormald Green.
Police today released pictures of the grey vehicle, which they say was taken from an address in the village, which is midway between Ripon and Harrogate.
It was stolen at about 11.30pm on Wednesday last week.
A police statement said:
“Please keep your eyes peeled for the car and if you have any info, call 101 quoting ref: 12220186546.”

Police appeal for help to track down child’s bike stolen from Harrogate home
Police are appealing for help to track down a child’s bike stolen from outside a home in Harrogate.
The Trek 3700 bike was taken from outside the property on Claro Avenue between Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8.
It is silver with black and green writing. There are scratches on the handlebars and some on the frame.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:
“We are appealing for information for any witnesses who may have seen this incident or the stolen bike. We are also appealing for anyone locally with CCTV that may assist with locating this item.”

Two excavators stolen from Knaresborough building site
Two excavators have been stolen from a building site just off the A59 at Knaresborough.
The machines were taken last night from Swallowtail Way, which is near the Trinity Fields development and Aldi supermarket.
North Yorkshire Police today appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The machines are both yellow — one is five tonnes and the other is nine tonnes.
A police statement said:
“We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for sightings of any suspicion people or vehicles in the vicinity of this location, or any sightings of the stolen excavators following the offence.”

Man on the run from police has Harrogate connections
A wanted man who didn’t turn up in court to face attempted robbery charges has Harrogate connections, police said today.
Keith David Whitehead, 45, failed to appear at York Crown Court on Friday last week.
He was accused of attempting to rob a man in Scarborough in October last year. The court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
He has also been recalled to prison for displaying poor behaviour, including harassment, which is in breach of his licence conditions.
North Yorkshire Police today appealed for help locating Whitehead.
A police statement today said:
“Police enquiries are ongoing in North Yorkshire where it is known Whitehead has connections in Scarborough and Harrogate.”

Whitehead is described as white, short grey hair, 5ft 8in tall, with a slim build.

Dog walker seriously injured in collision with motorist near Ripon
A dog walker was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle near Ripon.
The driver failed to leave any details and police are now trying to trace him.
The victim was walking his black Alsatian dog when a vehicle struck him and his dog.
The dog is believed to have been injured and ran off.
The incident happened at around 6pm on Sunday, September 11 on a country lane at Gate Bridge Road, which is between Grantley and Galphay.
The driver is described as a white man with short brown hair, a local accent, a short stubble beard and aged 30 to 40 years old.
He drove the victim to Harrogate District Hospital, left him outside and drove off without leaving any details.

The victim, who is in his 30s, cannot recall the make of vehicle but remembers it was black.
He suffered serious injuries, which are not life-threatening. The dog has yet to be found.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in A1(M) crash near BoroughbridgeA motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a major crash on the A1(M) near Boroughbridge yesterday afternoon.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the single-vehicle collision, which happened at around 3.30pm on the northbound carriageway, just south of junction 49.
The rider of a yellow Honda Z125 motorbike, a man in his 40s, came off the bike and was taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment.
The road was closed between junction 48 (Boroughbridge interchange) and junction 49 (Dishforth interchange) to allow emergency services and the air ambulance to attend the scene. It re-opened at around 6.45pm.
Motorists faced delays of up to an hour.
Any witnesses, or anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision itself, or of the motorcycle involved prior to the collision, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.

Cyclist suffered ‘serious injuries’ in Harrogate crash
A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash with a car in Harrogate yesterday, police said today.
A stretch of Cold Bath Road was closed for hours following the collision at the junction with West Cliffe Grove.
The air ambulance landed on the Stray so paramedics could offer medical treatment quickly.
North Yorkshire Police said it had now traced the driver of a dark-coloured hatchback who they appealed for help finding yesterday.
Officers are now appealing to anyone who saw a white Vauxhall Viva travelling uphill on Cold Bath Road from the direction of the Fat Badger hotel bar roundabout or saw the cyclist travelling in the opposite direction to get in touch.

A police statement said:
“The rider of the pedal cycle suffered serious injuries at the scene and was taken to hospital for medical treatment following the incident at around 1.40pm on Friday.

A missing Ripon man has been found safe.
North Yorkshire Police issued an appeal at the weekend for anyone who had seen the man to get in touch.
But three days later they said he had been found safe.
