Todays figures mean 73 patients who tested positive for covid-19 at Harrogate District Hospital have died- with 125 discharged.

A further 67 people in England, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 27,927.

Patients were aged between 37 and 102 years old. Three patients, aged between 59 and 94, had no known underlying health conditions.

Harrogate District Hospital has not reported any new coronavirus deaths.

It is the first time in four days that the hospital has not recorded at least one death.

So far, 73 people have died after testing positive at the hospital and 125 have recovered.

Meanwhile, hospitals across England have recorded another 70 deaths today taking the total up to 27,860.

Patients were aged between 24 and 102 years old. Three patients, who were aged between 78 and 102, had no known underlying health conditions.

Harrogate District Hospital has reported one more coronavirus death, taking the trust’s total up to 71.

The person died yesterday and was recorded with 129 in total across England’s hospitals.

Patients were aged between 26 and 100 years old.

Three patients, who were aged between 78 and 93, had no known underlying health conditions.

On Thursday, the hospital reported that it had discharged 118 patients who tested positive for coronavirus – an increase of nine on the previous week.

Harrogate District Hospital has reported two more coronavirus deaths, taking its total number up to 66.

The hospital had not recorded any deaths for six days in a row until the NHS released today’s figures.

It comes as hospitals in England report a further 143 deaths, taking the country’s total up to 26,865.

Patients were aged between 36 and 100 years old. Eight of the 143 patients, aged between 48 and 91, had no known underlying health conditions.

On Thursday last week, the hospital reported a total of 109 patients had recovered from coronavirus and been discharged.

Harrogate’s care homes have now reported more coronavirus deaths than the hospital.

Up to May 22, care homes have recorded 72 coronavirus deaths. It’s an increase of 12 deaths from the previous week’s figures in care homes compared to an increase of four deaths in the hospital.

Harrogate District Hospital has just gone six days without reporting any new coronavirus deaths until today’s NHS figures.

Up to June 2, the hospital has reported 66 deaths. So, even with the lag in data of ten days, care homes have reported more deaths.

What is being done to help care homes?

North Yorkshire County Council recently said it was stepping up its support to care homes for the 235 care homes in its area.

The council will support struggling care homes with staffing, PPE, infection control, safe hospital discharge, and more.

Figures today released by the NHS show one more patient who tested positive for coronavirus at Harrogate District Hospital has died. The death was recorded yesterday and brings the total number of hospital deaths in the district to 62.

A further 59 people, who tested positive for the covid-19 have died, according to the NHS. It brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,750.

However, the NHS warned that the Covid Patient Notification System did not operate between 0455 and 1500 yesterday due to “a connectivity issue experienced by an external supplier” which would affect the figures.

Patients were aged between 44 and 98 years old.  4 of the patients had no known underlying health condition.

Today’s figures show 2 more patients with coronavirus died at the hospital over the last few days – one on the 21st May , the other yesterday. It means the total number of deaths at the hospital has now risen to 60.

This week Harrogate District Hospital said it had discharged a total of 104 patients after treatment for coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

Outside the hospital, there have been 51 deaths from coronavirus in care homes in the district.

ONS figures today showed a further 157 people in England, who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 25,544.

Patients were aged between 12 and 100 years old.  Seven of the 157 patients had no known underlying health condition.

There have been no further deaths in patients with Covid-19 recorded at Harrogate District Hospital, according to today’s statistics.

It leaves the total number of deaths under Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust at 58 since the start of the outbreak. The hospital confirmed yesterday it had treated and discharged 104 patients in total.

In figures released today, NHS England confirmed the deaths of 121 people across the country, in patients aged between 41 and 98. Of those, three patients, aged between 50 and 91, had no known underlying health conditions.

For the fourth consecutive day, there have been no new confirmed coronavirus deaths at Harrogate District Hospital.

The total number of deaths at the hospital remains 54.  54 is also the number of covid-19 related deaths in care homes in the district.  Those statistics, released this week, covered the period up to May 1.

A further 90 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus in England have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 24,617- although NHS England said that The Covid Patient Notification System did not operate for a period of time yesterday which might have affected todays figures.

This week, Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust confirmed it had discharged 97 people after treatment for coronavirus, since the start of the outbreak.

Harrogate District Hospital has reported that three more people who tested positive for coronavirus have died.

Today’s figures include one death from April 29 and two more deaths from Sunday and Monday this week, bringing the hospital’s total up to 54.

The deaths were recorded with a total of 244 across England’s hospitals. Patients were aged between 49 and 99 years old. Four of the 244 patients, who were aged between 51 and 78 years old, had no known underlying health conditions.

It also comes as the government releases a clear picture of confirmed coronavirus cases by lower-tier local authority – narrowing it down to the Harrogate district, rather than the wider numbers for North Yorkshire which were previously available.

According to the data released today, the Harrogate district has had 266 cases. It also includes rates per 100,000 resident population, which provides a comparable figure across the UK.

Harrogate has a rate of 165.7 which is lower than England’s rate of 248.5, Yorkshire and the Humber’s rate of 230.9 as well as North Yorkshire with a rate of 196.4.

Weekly data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) also reveals how many people have died outside of hospitals. That number has been rising higher in recent weeks and is close to overtaking Harrogate hospital’s deaths.

This data goes up to May 1 and shows that there have been 48 deaths outside of hospitals. Of those, 43 deaths have been in Harrogate’s care homes, with the others in private homes or “other communal establishments.”
