Temperatures will struggle to get above freezing across the Harrogate district next week.
Bitterly cold weather is on its way as arctic air blows into the UK, the Met Office has forecast.
Greenhow Hill near Pateley Bridge, which is the highest part of the district, is expected to get the coldest weather, with temperatures as low as minus 6 degrees celsius predicted for the early hours of Monday morning. However, it could feel as cold as minus 11 during that same morning.
For the rest of the week, it looks to be mostly sunny but with highs of just 0 degrees.
Harrogate will see lows of minus three while Knaresborough, Masham, Ripon and Boroughbridge can expect minus two degrees at night. These areas can expect highs of just four degrees.
The Met Office also said there is “potential for widespread snowfall” across Yorkshire and Humberside on Tuesday, January 16 but heavy snowfall isn't currently expected locally.
The cold snap is expected to last until the weekend of January 20.
