Resident requires oxygen after fire in Harrogate
crossing due to be upgraded
A person living on Cold Bath Road in Harrogate was given oxygen today after a fire.
Harrogate firefighters were summoned at 12.25pm to a report of an alarm sounding.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service's incident report said:
"On arrival, crew confirmed a small fire had occurred within a microwave.
"The fire was out on arrival of the fire service, however, the property was still heavily smoke logged. Crews opened windows and provided oxygen therapy to the resident."
Earlier today at 11.46am, firefighters from Boroughbridge and Ripon attended a single vehicle road traffic collision at the roundabout from the A168 to the A1 (M).
The incident report said:
"Crews worked with cutting equipment to remove the door of the vehicle, allowing the driver trapped inside to self rescue and walk from the vehicle.
"Both driver and passenger taken to hospital via road ambulance for checks. Fire and rescue crews also carried out scene safety. Incident left with police."
