Harrogate digital marketing agency rebrands
Kariba, Harrogate’s oldest digital marketing agency, has rebranded as it celebrates its 25th year.
The business was set up by Chris Wilson in 1997, after being asked to build Harrogate Borough Council’s first ever website.
Since then, Kariba has gone on to design and build websites and provide a range of digital marketing services for clients in Yorkshire and across the UK.
Mr Wilson, who is Kariba’s managing director as well as its founder, said:
“Our brand refresh and new website means we have a more current look and feel, and in turn better reflects who we are and what we do today, so that we can appeal to those ambitious, growth-focused companies whom we love partnering with.”

Building society set to move into Knaresborough Library
Knaresborough Library will close today at 5pm for work to accommodate the new branch Newcastle Building Society that is due to go into the building.
Since the last bank in Knaresborough closed last year, North Yorkshire County Council and Harrogate Borough Council have worked with the society to maintain local access to financial services.
Harrogate Borough Council has also worked with Barclays to bring its mobile banking service to the market town.
The library will reopen on Saturday. The building society is expected to open late this month or early July.
Work to accommodate @NewcastleBSoc at #Knaresborough Library will start this week.
The library will close at 5pm tomorrow and is scheduled to reopen at 9.30am on 11 June.

A Harrogate-based employment law firm has expanded its offices to London.
Boardside in London is close to St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England. The location will mean it is easily accessible for clients in the city.
The company now has branches in three different regions, with its headquarters in Harrogate.
The firm wrote in its newsletter:
“Almost five years after launching our niche employment law practice in Yorkshire, we are delighted to announce that we now have a presence in the capital.
“We believe that by having offices in the two biggest legal centres (Leeds and London) in the country, it will be easier for us to meet clients from across the UK.”
Boardside is run by owners Richard Port and Nadine Martson.
Support for Ripon businesses
Ripon’s Business Improvement District has appointed the Place Support Partnership to help firm in Ripon save on running costs.
PSP will visit BID businesses to support and advise them on reducing costs associated with utility and trading bills.
Lilla Bathurst, manager of the BID, said:
“The Place Support Partnership offers various services and acts as a savings scheme to support businesses.
“During the consultation process, businesses identified that they would like 10% of their levy to go on business support.”
Ripon BID says it has also worked to make businesses aware of the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant.
OHLG grants totally £141,342 were distributed to hospitality businesses in Ripon which were negatively affected by the pandemic.
Harrogate BID provided a business grant of up to £750 last month, for qualifying businesses to improve paintwork, signage and accessibility.

CNG building in Harrogate goes back on the market
Former CNG building goes on the market
The Harrogate headquarters of energy firm CNG, which ceased trading lat year, has gone on the market.
Montpellier Property Consultants is advertising the four-storey property on Victoria Avenue.
The air-conditioned building was built in the 1990s and refurbished in 2015. The advertisement says:
“It offers modern high specification office accommodation and benefits from the latest systems and technology.
“The quality of its specification and the very extensive office accommodation it provides makes it unique in the business district.”
Slingsby Gin signs sponsorship deal with Ascot Racecourse
Harrogate firm Slingsby Gin has become the official gin supplier to Ascot Racecourse.
Royal Ascot, which is held in June, is one of the premier events on the British horseracing calendar.
The partnership will generate considerable exposure for the local firm through exclusive branding and activations, branded bars for the season and inclusion in event coverage that is broadcast worldwide.
Slingsby Gin said in a statement:
“We are delighted to add this to our existing long-standing sponsorship with one of the golf world’s most exciting events, the BMW PGA Championship, and we hope that the new Ascot partnership will further strengthen our strong sporting connections.”
JB Gill to appear at Great Yorkshire Show
JB Gill
Pop star turned farmer JB Gill has agreed to appear on the new GYS stage at the Great Yorkshire Show.
He will appear twice on stage on Wednesday, July 13, as part of a chat show style section before meeting fans afterwards.
Former ITV Calendar presenter Christine Talbot will host the GYS Stage.
The Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate will take place from July 12 to 15.

Harrogate’s Cardale Asset Management acquired by London firm

Cardale Asset Management has agreed a deal to be acquired by London firm Titan Wealth Holdings.
The company, which is based at Cardale Park, provides portfolio management, stockbroking and financial planning services.
Cardale was launched in 2003 and now has £1.5bn in assets under management, which it manages for approximately 3,500 clients. The company employs about 70 people.
The firm reported a turnover of £16m for the 2021 financial year.
James Kaberry and Andrew Fearon, joint chief executives of Titan Wealth, said in a statement:
“We are delighted to welcome the team at Cardale to Titan Wealth. Cardale is a highly profitable and well-respected business with a focused and proven investment process that consistently delivers outperformance to its client portfolios.”
LHL Group promotes Daniel Bower to director

Yorkshire property consultants LHL Group, which has an office in Harrogate, has appointed building surveyor Daniel Bower as a director.
Mr Bower joined LHL Group in 2014 and became an associate director in 2019. His work includes project management, employer’s agent and contract administration for new build and refurbishment schemes as well as traditional commercial and residential property building surveys and dilapidations work.
He said:
“After almost eight years with LHL Group, I’m delighted to be joining managing director, Richard Hampshire and director, Shaun Bennett, on the board and supporting the wider management and development of the business in a highly competitive climate.”
Dealer award for Ripon Farm Services

Ripon Farm Services has been awarded the UK Dealer of the Year Award for 2021 by Italian sprayer manufacturer Mazzotti. The award recognises overall performance and dedication to the brand.
Vincenzo Gasperi, export manager for Mazzotti, gave the award during a recent visit to the farm machinery company, which is based in Ripon and has 12 branches in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Teesside.
Richard Simpson, commercial director of Ripon Farm Services, said: “We’ve put a lot of effort into launching the sprayers, not only to demonstrate the benefits of these machines, but also to support the customers with what is, after all, a new brand in the UK market.”
